Description:
The No Kings Rally, organized by local citizens under the banner of the national organization Indivisible, will be an outdoor event on 6th Avenue E between Broadway Street and 2nd Street E in downtown Menomonie. LWV-GCV volunteers will assist participants to register to vote, and answer questions about voting and upcoming elections. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 12:30 p.m. for set-up. The rally begins at 1 p.m. We will take down by 4:00 p.m.
Public parking is available on city streets and in pay lots in downtown Menomonie. This event is expected to draw hundreds of people, so arriving early will be helpful to find a parking place, or park remotely and walk to the site.
Volunteers of any experience level are welcome to sign up, but if you haven't taken the LWV-GCV voter registration training, you're encouraged to do that. If you have any questions, please contact David Heemsbergen at dheemsbergen67@msn.com.
Bring with you:
A folding chair for yourself if you will need to sit during the shift.
If you have an LWV-GCV yellow vest, bring it.
Water and snacks if you will need them during the shift.
Dress for the weather--we'll be outside!
When you arrive at the event site, look for the League of Women Voters table, and other volunteers wearing yellow vests.
