Voter Registration and Outreach, No Kings Rally, Menomonie
About this event
The No Kings Rally, organized by local citizens under the banner of the national organization Indivisible, will be an outdoor event at Wilson Park in Menomonie. LWV-GCV volunteers will assist citizens to register to vote, answer questions about voting and upcoming elections, and provide information about the campaign for fair legislative district maps. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 1:45 p.m. for set-up. The rally begins at 2 p.m. We will take down at 3:45 p.m., and volunteers who would like to may join the rally participants in a walk through downtown Menomonie.
Public parking is available on city streets surrounding Wilson Park. But as this event may draw several hundred people, arriving early makes it more likely you will find a spot closer to the park.
Volunteers of any experience level are welcome to sign up, but if you haven't taken the LWV-GCV voter registration training, you're encouraged to do that. If you have any questions, please contactJan Morlock at morlockjan@gmail.com.
Bring with you:
A folding chair for yourself if you anticipate needing to sit during the shift.
If you have an LWV-GCV yellow vest, bring it and if not, you will be provided with one to wear that day.
Clothing appropriate for the weather--we'll be outside!
When you arrive at Wilson Park, look for the table with a League of Women Voters flag. More specific info about location of the table in the park will be available to volunteers closer to the date. We aim for a minimum of two volunteers per shift.
